Catch Phrase

A tradition on the UK club volleyball team this year is that we like to get together and play catch phrase, usually the night before a tournament. Catch phrase could possibly be the funniest game ever, especially when you play with a bunch of silly girls. It all started last semester before a tournament at Xavier when we stayed at a girl on the teams house the night before. We played catch phrase for almost two hours straight and many memories were made. During the game, we discovered we had a superstar catch phrase player on our team. She came up with the most interesting description for things we have ever heard. Some good ones, "It's life a finger, but its nottttt." (word:toe) "Fifty, FIFTY." (word" raffle ticket) This weekend we had a tournament in Dayton and had game night on friday. Sure enough, the superstar was at it again. Example : "You know when you are playing volleyball and you get really hot and start precipitating." (word: sweat maybe?) There were many other great ones from the night and lots of times where I was pretty sure I was going to pee my pants from laughing so hard. We won't talk about how well we did the next day, but hey, atleast we still had fun along the way. Maybe instead of volleyball tournaments we should go to catch phrase tournaments. We would win the gold bracket every time.

You girls are awesome! I love spending my weekends with all of you, even if the outcome isn't always the best. You all have made this year great. I love each and every one of you! (even if you do laugh at my blog : ))

Happy Hearts Day!

I don't get it. So many people complain about how awful valentine's day is. Many girls get on facebook and rant about how February 14th is the worst day of the year. I do not remember very many valentine's days in which I had a significant other (except for the past 3) but I have never hated this day. I have always thought it was a good holiday in which others can celebrate love. We celebrate Mothers, Fathers, Presidents, etc., why can't we celebrate love? It does not just have to be love for a significant other, but love for family, friends, anyone who you care about. Also, people use this holiday to complain about how they do not have a significant other. Yes, I will admit, having a boyfriend is awesome. But, it is only awesome when it is right and when you do not go out looking for it. Being single does not mean that there is something wrong with you or that guys do not like you. It just means it is not the right time or you have not met anyone good enough for you. So girls, cheer up. Enjoy being single and use valentines day to celebrate all the love in the world.

And here is to my valentine...

Jake, this picture describes us perfectly. Me, doing something silly, and you looking at me with a cute little grin. I am so thankful for the love you bring into my life. Not only have you shown me how to love another person, but to love life and everything in it. You have taught me so much about myself and who I want to be. I would not be the person I am today if it was not for you. You have changed me for the better and I could never thank you enough. I am so unbelievably proud of all that you have accomplished and I adore your passion for everything that you do. I just want you to know how thankful I am for you and for all that you do for me. I appreciate you bringing me food whenever I am craving something, listening to me rant about all of my problems, putting up with me when I am grumpy, and giving me advice whenever I need it. Every day I think about how lucky I am to have you in my life. I love you, Jake. Happy Valentine's Day!
And Happy Birthday mommy! I love you!

wet pants

The title is not what it sounds like, but it pretty much sums up my day. Last night I got to go see my mom who was in town. We had a nice evening at her hotel of watching glee, eating Texas Roadhouse takeout, and skyping with the beautiful Meghan. I even got to bed at 11, which is a miracle. To start my day off, I woke up at 6:30 am and started to get ready. So I go to get dressed and the pants I brought to wear are wet. WET. I had washed them and wanted to bring them with me and forgotten to hang them up. Guess what the temperature outside was? 7 degrees. Yes 7. Do you know what walking in freezing weather with wet pants feels like? I do. And it is not fun. This is what I looked like...Ok so maybe this isn't quite what I looked like, but its what I felt like. I am so sick of the cold. I have decided that I am living some where warm when I grow up. Cold and I, we just don't mix so I think we should take our time apart. Oh sunny days and warm temperatures, how I long for you.
